Being Out of Work…

Hello everybody! Hope everyone is having a great day and/or night! I wanted to post a blog about being out of work, simply because, for the moment, I am out of work. I am not out of work because I got fired or anything, but because of a medical reason.

About a month ago, or so, I woke up one morning and just couldn’t move. It took me 10-20 minutes to get up out of bed, and get to the bathroom. Something was wrong with my lower back, and the pain was horrible. This was on a Sunday. I reached out the next day to a chiropractor, and made an appointment for Tuesday.

Upon seeing this doctor, he did an adjustment, which was great. He was actually able to get a result with my lower back, something that had never been done before! Needless to say, he advised that it would not be smart to head back to work yet, because I sit all day. I applied for short term disability with my insurance, and got that approved, which is great.

So, the point of this post? It’s a little annoying being out of work. I can’t even go drive for Uber or Lyft because sitting too long does bother my lower back. I’ve been doing a lot of projects in the mean time to cure my boredom. I’ve made a YouTube channel, ScotterScottle, which I do a lot of videos on. I’ve been trying to work and be more active here, on my blog.

Now, some people may think being out of work would be amazing, right? Not having to follow a schedule or actually do anything. Let me tell you, TV gets boring fast. Netflix gets boring fast. Everything gets boring fast. I sit on my couch, or lay down in bed, and watch TV. I get up every 30 minutes or so and walk around my apartment for 10 minutes or more.

The only good thing that has come out of being out of work, is the fact that I have forced myself 15318012_540751729462369_6663072113400464380_nto learn to cook a little bit, with a little success. I made my first dish of tater-tot casserole! That may not sound like much, but it’s exciting to me! I’ve also gotten to spend more time with my cats, and enjoy their company.

So, my advice to anyone else who may be in a similar situation: get creative, and do something, if able, that you hadn’t done before. Start up a YouTube channel of daily VLOGS, or work more on a blog. There’s a whole world out there to experience. Go experience it.
